Pasig River Ferry Service station Hulo Makati City
Crossing the Pasig River from Makati City into Mandaluyong
When traffic is a total mess in Makati what can you do? What alternatives are there for crossing the Pasig river?
Well there is an inexpensive answer for crossing the river, the alternative route going to the City of Mandaluyong, directly east of Manila, that is quick and easy.
The Hulo Ferry Station to the rescue.
How much does it cost? The regular fare is php4 per person (less than 10 cents).
That is a great deal in saving tons of money getting across the river quickly and inexpensive.
Now that you find yourself on the north side of the Pasig, what can you do there? Well it’s great now get some inexpensive locals food!
It’s a very locals area just off the ferry station. The benefit is that you can get some really great food for little money. I’m going to assume that most have a budget for food like I do. My stop included having a delicious breakfast with freshly fried chicken and Puncit. The total cost with drink was around $3. Not bad! I’m sure many will wonder what the is the name of the food stop. The reality in the locals part of the city is that there is usually no name. It’s typically a family run business. You can be assured that it’s good home cooking food.
So why not make the venture across the Pasig and explore Mandaluyong. So what about the Water Lilly? Well they got the best of the river that day. It’s a common thing that during the rain season the Water Lilies are known to close down the river. This is the occurrence of that day! So my trip to Chinatown as cut short. I’ll be back river!
